Motorcycle helmet F-16

Hi everyone, I just know someone will come up with the answer to my question !!  In a Government Surplus Store today I came across this helmet which is in the attached pictures.  Just what is it supposed to be ?  The owner of the store says that there are plenty more where this came from so if anyone fancies one they are relatively cheap !!  Just let me know and I will give you details of how to contact him. I agree with TERRY that the mystery helmet is a motorcycle protective helmet. The graphics are just too "Gee-whiz" and some of the other aspects of the helmet, such as the plastic chin-cup, as status quo M/C features. Someone (or some company) appears to have attempted to produce a sort of Tom Cruise/Top Gun twist on M/C protective gear. It is, however, as interesting in its own way as are the other one-off items like the Steve Canyon toy helmets. Some of these things are curiosities that warrant interest simply because of their associations and the mind-set behind their production, if for no other reason. I personally have always found any design even remotely associated with head protection as worthy of interest, since my interest in flight helmets extends to cranial protective, safety technology, and medical issues therein in broader terms (and for all activities). Cushioning the human head against severe shock (no matter what the venue) is always quite a fascinating problem in applied physics! Interesting item and thanks for bringing it to our attention.
