Israeli helmets

Message 351:
I recieved some pictures made at the RIAT this year. They show an Israelian fighter pilot. For a Polish book, Jan Bury is looking for information on this gear. We gathered some pictures already, but by recieving this one some questions came up. What kind of helmet is this? The hose on the visor cover seems to be some sort of electrical cord that is a bout a meter long. The mask looks like the 5P but with a local manufactured hardshell? The ox recievers on the helmet are different from the ones we are used to. (4 screws instead of 2). Hope somebody has some answers. For the book, Jan is also looking for other info on Israeli gear. Thanks Ron

To my knowledge this helmet could be the hybrid helmet the Israeli's made with the tact.info projection unit. I am pretty sure this helmet was also ( shell ) assembled and manufactured in one of the Kibouts working for the IAF. I tried in vain some years back to visit one but : NO WAY. As to military gear they still are very sensitive. Sensitive with a major S in front. Just like South African AF, they are masters in manufacturing high tech gear using knowledge from NATO and other countries. They always make what they really want themselves. Remaut Martine

Hi folks.....After discussing some DASH helmets a while ago, I came across this picture on the net. It looks to me like an HGU-22/P type of shell with a trimmed single visor. (no EEK-4A/P and the position of the commcord comming from the helmet for instance). But they name it the HGU-34HA were HA stands for the Hebrew short for Israelian Airforce. (Yes it is an Israelian pilot in the F4-2000 Kurnass). Any ideas? Bye Ron
